I just had to paint this little fella after rescuing a drowning one on the Llangollen Canal. The brush strokes are loose and fluid and the mark making, especially with regards to his spines, evoke a hedghog with a plucky little character; just like the one in the canal that ate the dog food just minutes after nearly meeting a watery end!
