What fun I had painting this! I pass many cows and calves drinking from the side of the canal on my journeys. Sometimes they don’t take any notice of the boat at all but every now and again I get one looking at me like this.

The use of bright colours and the tilt of that head adds huge character to this friendly looking calf.
